Water Exercise: ESP stands for ENDURANCE, STRENGTH, and POWER, and that's exactly what you should expect with this 45 minute class. Using an aqua belt, noodles, and oodles of other fun equipment, participants are led through an instructional class in both the deep and shallow end of the pool. You don't need to know how to swim to enjoy this class. This class provides the same benefits received in a regular aerobic class, but without the stress that it puts on the body. No swimming skills are necessary. A great way to strengthen your muscles, tone your body and improve your overall fitness.
Arthritis Aquatics: The YMCA Arthritis Foundation Aquatic program is a collaborative effort of two national organizations. It's a recreational exercise program designed to accommodate the abilities of individuals with arthritis and other related diseases. The classes are taught in a group setting with activities and exercises to encourage self-care, improve muscular strength, endurance and flexibility, maintain independence, manage pain and relieve symptoms of arthritis. Water temp: 84-86 degrees or choose the Therapy Pool in Olean (maintained at 94-96 degrees) while observing the instructor leading the class in the main pool. Physician consent may be required.
